Digestion: The sample is dried at 50°C followed by dissolution in nitric acid/hydrogen peroxide in closed teflon vessels in a microwave oven (for As, Cd, Co, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb, S and Zn). For other elements, the sample is fused with lithium methaborate and dissolved in diluted nitric acid.
