Plastics surround us all in our everyday life and problems caused by the spreading of microplastics are increasingly recognized lately. Microplastics are defined as small plastic fragments (1 nm to 5 mm) and are formed unintentionally when plastic items disintegrate but are also intentionally added in certain products.

There are numerous sources of microplastics such as particles from roads and tires, washing of synthetic fibres and synthetic grass.

ALS now offers analysis of particles in water to detect the presence of microplastics. The analysis is qualitative to identify which particles are present in the analytical sample. Click here to see our analytical package A-4h.
