ALS Laboratory Group’s solution for digital archiving and electronic signatures of analytical report has been approved by the Swedish Board of Accreditation, Swedac.

Starting May 27th customers will receive analytical reports with a digital signature as pdf-files. Such reports will be validated and have the same quality assurance as the former signed reports on paper.

Distribution of preliminary analysis results in Excel format will not be affected by this change.

From the same date, distribution of paper reports by post will be discontinued. Clients can choose not to receive results by digital reports, but a service-fee of NOK 100 will be issued for every paper report. » Would you like to receive paper reports? Follow this link.

Electronic reports are part of the ALS efforts to make the flow of information through the laboratory completely digital. Digital reporting reduces the usage of consumables and contributes to a cleaner and more environmentally friendly business. Our paper and toner consumption is reduced significantly, and emissions related to transport decreases as a result of this new effort.

In addition to a reduced carbon-footprint, clients will benefit from receiving a signed analytical report at least one day earlier than in the past.

The guiding star of ALS Laboratory Group has always been quality. Instead of opting for a simple scanned signature solution, which is not legally binding, our choice fell on advanced digital signature based on certificates issued by GlobalSign Certificate Authority. The technology used by GlobalSign is similar to the technology used for internet banking. This will ensure the integrity and validity of reports issued by ALS Laboratory Group.

The advanced electronic signature is an integral part of the analysis report (PDF format) and can be read using Adobe Reader version 6.0 or later. Latest version of Adobe Reader can be downloaded free from the Adobe website.
